Pastel Pet Portraits
I welcome commissions and would be delighted to paint a unique and one of a kind pastel portrait of your beloved pet. To produce a detailed painting with a good likeness I need to be very clear on the following points:
The photograph needs to be of a high resolution, clear and reasonably close up to your pet
It is best if your pet is at eye level to you and is facing forward. Facing sideways is fine too but not facing away from you!
Make sure the photo represents a good likeness of your pet.
It really important that you provide me with a good quality image(s) to work from as I can only paint what I can see. I reserve the right to decline a commission if I feel I cannot work from the images. I can work from photographs or digital images.
How much do they cost?
An 8 by10 inch portrait costs £85
A 12 by16 inch portrait is £125
Other sizes are available if you have a specific size in mind.
Portraits are unframed and unmounted to reduce postage costs but this can be arranged if required.
If you would like me to handcraft a unique and individual animal totem for you to keep for yourself or to give as a gift to someone else then please do get in touch. I can recreate something similar that I have made previously, or if you want something custom made and unique to you, then just let me know by completing the form at the bottom of the page.
I also make pet totems to symbolise and represent your pet whether deceased or still with you. I can use their fur in the making of the totem if you so wish. I will need several photographs of your pet to work from so I can see what they look like from all angles. If you have any preferences for how I embellish your totem, let me know that too.
How much do they cost?
Animal spirit totems £ 38.00 each
Pet totems start at £45.00 each depending on how intricate you would like them and how patterned/unique your pet is.
How long do they take to make?
Each totem is different, but they take between 3 and 6 hours depending on how much beadwork, needle felting and clay sculpting there is. I usually need a few days to complete one and would aim to post it out to you as soon as possible. I will give an estimate of how long it will take when you make your enquiry.
Where do you ship to?
Anywhere, but if it is outside the UK, I don't accept responsibility for any additional costs/taxes incurred during delivery. I can get a quote for postage when you make your enquiry.
Do you accept refunds?
I do not accept refunds on pastel portraits. I provide a proof of the portrait for you to view and comment on before payment is taken and the portrait is posted. I would highly recommend the proof is viewed on more than one device as computer screens can look different to an Ipad or mobile phone.
I will only accept refunds on a totem where the item is faulty. I would then require you to photograph the faulty part and return the totem back to me so I could either refund you or repair the totem. I will send photographs of your totem so you can be sure you are happy with it before I send it to you. I want you to be delighted with your totem and will do my best to ensure you are happy with your purchase.
Are the totems suitable for children?
These are NOT toys and need to be handled with care. They are delicate and the nature of the fibers and beads I use, mean that they will spoil if they are handled incorrectly. It is your discretion to decide if your totem is suitable to be handled by a sensible child.
Are the pastel paintings fragile too?
Yes! They will smudge very easily so must be handled with care. I will provide handling care with each purchase so you can ensure you don't smudge away your beautiful pet portrait.
